Advent, Day 9: Let Me See You In Darkness

It turns out it’s easier to love someone, sometimes, when they are dead.

I can’t swim, only overflow these banks –

Uncertainty as practice – a valuable skill.

Few people get space for free – so self respect is an act of defiance.

They say if you want something done, you must do it yourself. This is not true.

This is a letter I might have never written – filled with things I might have never said: a letter for my father’s retirement.

Today was a special day. This morning I woke to rain.

I find myself in a ridiculous position. Perhaps you can relate?
